New Senior site…plus some other news

Okay… it’s been a while since I’ve been able to post anything but new shoots, so here’s a few updates.

First, I’m excited to announce that we have added a separate site just for High School Seniors. It’s called “The Senior Image” and it’s still Under Construction. Check it out here & let us know what you think.

On a related note…In an effort to ease the burden of typing in such a long URL, I’ve added another (shorter) one that will get you there. www.tcppix.com

After several requests, we have also decided to teach a photography class. These days ”fauxtographers” are everywhere (So much so that most people cant tell the difference…)  and the camera companies have done a good job convincing people that if they just buy the right camera, they can be a “pro” too. Well, I can’t make you a pro in one day, but I can help you to use your fancy camera, plus a few tips & techniques to vastly improve your photos. I’m starting with just a beginner class for now, so if your interested just go here…

Also…we are giving out $100 gift certificates, good for any of our products (prints, albums, etc.), to the next 25 seniors who book with us. Get yours before they run out!

RadioPoppers (the short version)

OK, as promised here’s the low down on my new RadioPoppers. Not really a review, (there are plenty already out there) but rather a report.

After using these pricey little puppies for a few weeks now I can honestly say that they are one of my favorite pieces of equipment.

Bottom line, these things rock.  RadioPoppers are one of the few products that work “as advertised”. High speed sync, TTL, rock-solid reliability…it’s all there.

I’m definitely gonna get the JrX’s for the studio.

So here’s my only complaints…

1. The Transmitter uses a CR123A battery. (Finding one of those in a pinch is unlikely, I’ll keep a few emergency spares)

2. The flash mounting arrangement… I mount mine (2 lights) on the end of a monopod (Thanks to Scott & Adina Hayne for the setup) and the way they mount, well….it just doesn’t inspire confidence.

Minor stuff to be sure, but there none the less.

Anyway, there it is …short & sweet. If I were you I’d get em. Got any questions? I’ll be glad to help however I can.
